As I flicked the button, the following line from the Monkeys song “Homecoming Queen” rang out – “Cheer up sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean. I went along to the church on the morning of the funeral to set up the sound system and checked the volume was all right (it was). Although I’ll mention one thing that made me smile… My father read this poem at my mother’s funeral and it makes sense to me.
